Alicia's Story I’ve been researching on what I can do from home that doesn’t take away from my kids but still lets me develop in the women I am trying to become. So that being said everywhere I have looked I always come across coding and I believe it’s time I take that leap. I took a coding class in middle school one time but never thought about it being a career choice.

🙋‍♀️ Alicia's Motivation

My motivation for learning coding is to develop a new skill that can help better my future for myself, my children and family. I feel this is a career I can start in El Salvador along side my family. This will open new doors for myself as I’ve been looking for a skill I can learn to love and do my best in everyday.

🤹‍♀️ Alicia's Hobbies

My hobbies are making TikToks and YouTube videos with my children. Making crafts and painting. I also enjoy playing soccer, swimming, and finding new adventures to make memories.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
