Madina's Story My first coding experience was before university. My brother was the first person who encouraged me to code and show me how to learn coding. I am interested in coding because, I like challenges and finding solution. Challenges makes us to keep track of them.

🙋‍♀️ Madina's Motivation

I am a computer science student. Coding becomes such a hobby for me and makes major parts of my activities during the day. Secondly, I want to be a successful Web designer. I think this workshop would be a great opportunity for me who stuck in the Afghanistan without education and job rights. If you give me the chance to attend in your workshop, I can find an online job. In addition, I live in a big family. We are 12 people in the family. After Taliban banned women from working I decided to find an online job because, my father may can't afford all our requirements. It a really hard situation for us right now. Everyone should work and stand by own feet.

🤹‍♀️ Madina's Hobbies

In my free time, I read book, watch movies, and practice English. Sometimes, I play chess.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
