Kalkidan Yibeltal's Story The long lockdown, during my high school senior year, led me to use my computer more, and the more I spend time using my computer the more I understand how much more I can do with it, if I know more. Not only the interest I developed to know more about computers, but also the resentment that I am not getting the best out of the tools that are at the tip of my finger led me to consider computer science as my major, and taking coding class is one step forward.

🙋‍♀️ Kalkidan Yibeltal's Motivation

I was in dilemma of what to choose as my major when friend of mine told me about SheCodes. I was able to narrow my options to Economics, International realtion, and Computer science. As for computer science I don't have enough information to make up my mind, since there was no coding or other related class provided during high school. As a student who didn't decide what her major is yet, the coding course will give me the glimpse of what it is like to be computer science student, and knowledge that is important to make a decision. Most of all taking coding course is an asset for my future study and career, and the course being online makes it even more idle with the ongoing pandemic.
