Gloria's Story
As a teenager, I became captivated and absorbed in the world of computer technology, and this sparked my innate interest in learning about emerging computer technologies. During a Bioinformatics course in my undergraduate level, I was first exposed to coding and programming languages, which prompted me to venture and learn more about these technical skills. I would eventually be able to use these skills to hone my creative side and expand my coding knowledge, allowing me to design unique algorithms in the future. I moved on to take short courses in Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence, and I was fascinated by how different programs interacted and what I could accomplish in the research area if I also had excellent coding abilities. These trainings were also beneficial in encouraging me since they improved my understanding of how specific databases functioned, which drove me to learn more about how different platforms such as the Web, IOS, and Android worked on a whole new level.
