Alina's Story When I was choosing my future occupation, I was choosing between marketing and coding. At that time marketing won and I worked as a digital marketeer for over 9 years. But coding kept my interest for all this time and I hoped to study it someday. Now, as I don't have a job anymore and have some time for studying, I can finally start off.

🙋‍♀️ Alina's Motivation

I loved coding since high school, but at that moment marketing seemed like a better option for graduation. But today, after the war in Ukraine started and I was abandoned without a proper remote job, coding became the best option to invest my time and efforts. So, my main motivation today is to make a living for myself and my 3yo daughter.

🤹‍♀️ Alina's Hobbies

I love studying. I enjoy diving deep into languages, history, and art. I love traveling, it was a true passion of mine before the Covid-19 restrictions took place, and the war that started after. Now, among my hobbies mostly reading, cooking, and long walks with my daughter.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
