Anastasia's Story I was always interested in math, technologies, and solving hard tasks at school. Unfortunately, we didn't have programming classes there. That's why after graduation, I started studying computer science at the university. This field turned out to be so extensive. We worked with databases, technical drawing, programming, accounting, and others. Coding was my favorite one. Lately, I have found myself interested in the front end and now I am eager to explore it more.

🙋‍♀️ Anastasia's Motivation

I'm a fresh graduate in Computer Science, and I'm eager to learn more and gain my first work experience in the field. This program covers a number of topics that interest me the most, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React. When it comes to my personal experiences I have created some small projects in C++, Delphi, and C# at my university, that's why programming is not a new thing for me. It is so great that you help with building a responsive online portfolio. Because having good knowledge it is not enough it is essential to know how to present yourself. Also, I saw that the course starts with programming basics which can help me to revise and refresh my knowledge. It is my biggest hope that by becoming a student in this program I can become a professional in coding and can contribute with my work to other Ukrainian refugees by sharing my experience and knowledge with them.

🤹‍♀️ Anastasia's Hobbies

I am a huge fan of everything connected with art and music. I have been dancing since I was six. I sing and play piano, guitar, and ukulele. When I was fleeing the country I left my guitar, and it was a huge tragedy for me. I write my own songs in Ukrainian. I even performed some concerts when I was in Kyiv. Music and dancing are great tools that can help me cope with emotions during these hard times.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
