Arezo 's Story My interest in coding was sparked by the inspiring concept of 'women in technology.' The realization that coding is the cornerstone of all computer software and applications piqued my curiosity. As I delved deeper, I discovered the transformative power of coding—it's not just about writing lines of code; it's about creating solutions and bringing ideas to life. This revelation was a turning point, fueling my passion to learn and contribute to the tech industry, an arena where innovation thrives and boundaries are continually pushed. It's this potential for impact and change that drives my enthusiasm for coding.

🙋‍♀️ Arezo 's Motivation

My motivation for learning to code with SheCodes stems from a deep-seated desire to advance my education and career in Computer Science. As I prepare to pursue a bachelor's degree in this field, mastering coding is not just a benefit—it's a necessity. Beyond personal growth, my ambition is to become a beacon of inspiration for other women, particularly in Afghanistan, where many are limited to domestic roles. I envision using the skills acquired through SheCodes to empower these women, opening doors to the world of technology—a field that is transformative and empowering. This opportunity provided by the SheCodes Foundation is one I hold in high regard, as it aligns perfectly with both my academic goals and my commitment to fostering an inclusive tech community.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
