Clara's Story It's something I've always harboured but the fear of not being very good at maths had always kept me. But now, I'm free as a bird to be all I wanna be in the coding space. I now have a new orientation that I need not be a math guru to make it in this industry.

🙋‍♀️ Clara's Motivation

I've always loved the idea of programming. I have a background in Computer Science. However, I never wrote a code cos I was always thinking that you have to be very good at math for you to be in this field. Coming across Shecodes and going through the free coding class, and Matt emphasizing that you do not need to be a maths guru just was my cue. I know I can do this, given the opportunity. And I really do wanna change my life and up my employability scale. I wanna live a very fulfilled life and this is just gonna set me on the right path to do that.

🤹‍♀️ Clara's Hobbies

I love ADVENTURE, I love to be in nature. I love to write. I love reading and yes, I do love to undertake and learn new skills, I would love to learn a language or two. I enjoy watching movies too.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
