Dimakatso 's Story Growing up, I didn’t know much about computers or technology, but I was always curious about how things worked. Then, one day, I heard about a program teaching girls to code, and it sounded like a whole new world. I went to one of the sessions, and the idea that you could build something from just a few lines of code amazed me. I started small, learning basic things like HTML and CSS, and when I saw my first webpage come to life, I was hooked. It felt empowering to create something, even if it was just a simple design. As I learned more, I realized coding could be my way to change things for myself and my family. I became fascinated with the idea that this skill could open doors to careers, opportunities, and ways to solve problems in my community. Each new thing I learn feels like a step closer to a future I hadn’t imagined before.

🙋‍♀️ Dimakatso 's Motivation

Being a girl from a poor background, I want to learn coding because it feels like a superpower that can change my life. With coding, I can build things that matter, create opportunities for myself, and help support my family. It’s a skill that opens doors—no matter where I come from, I’d have a way to work, connect with others around the world, and solve problems. Learning to code gives me a sense of control over my future, where I don’t have to rely on anyone else. It’s like learning a language that lets me say, “I can do this.” Coding could be my path to something more than I ever thought possible.

🤹‍♀️ Dimakatso 's Hobbies

For fun, I love reading, especially books that take me to different places or teach me something new. I also enjoy sketching and painting; there’s something calming about putting pencil or brush to paper and watching an idea take shape. Being outdoors is another favorite—whether it's going for a walk, exploring a park, or just spending time with friends outside. Music is a big part of my life too; I like finding new songs or just relaxing with my favorite playlist. And when I have a chance, I love watching movies, especially anything with a good story or a bit of mystery.
