Dimpi 's Story
In Lalbandi, where I spent my childhood, the school I attended was not adequately equipped, and the education system in Nepal focused more on theoretical knowledge. Students were given limited access to practical computer classes, which were held only once a week and lasted for about 30 minutes and one computer was used by more than 4 students at the same time. Unfortunately, my school did not prioritize these classes, and they were irregular and infrequent. Due to this lack of access and limited resources, I faced difficulties in fully exploring and developing my interest in coding and programming. Due to the absence of computers in our school, the subject of accountancy was made compulsory, leaving no choice to opt for computer studies in grade 9 and 10. As a result, my coding knowledge remained limited to what I learned back in grade 8.
But embarking on my +2 journey in Nepal’s physics group, I encountered a new requirement in my curriculum: computer subjects. Initially, the concept of coding seemed unfamiliar and distant, and as time progressed, I delved into learning C programming and JavaScript. However, an underlying sense of inadequacy crept in as I overheard my classmates engaging in advanced conversations, far surpassing my own knowledge and skills. Determined not to be left behind, I sought guidance from both my peers and online resources, diligently exploring YouTube tutorials and learning from colleagues who had already grasped the intricacies of coding. Amidst this pursuit of knowledge, the opportune moment arrived when I discovered She Codes. The sheer passion to learn coding that had been kindled within me made the decision to apply for this opportunity an unequivocal one. I recognized that She Codes would provide the structured guidance and comprehensive learning environment.
