Gargi's Story I enjoy how as a group of programmers, without ever meeting each other, we can understand how the other person thinks and solves a problem, simply by looking at their code! My exciting journey through the packages and libraries of computer science began when the four wheeled, doubled capacitor, single processor prototype took the right, right turn at the junction. In that moment, the numerous brainstorming coding sessions and self doubt evaporated; I was happy to finally communicate to the robot through a piece of code and feel the magic of a simple code accomplishing tasks in the three dimensional world. When I come across a code from 1970’s which is now used to build highly scalable systems for millions of users, I find myself full of admiration and hope to contribute to this vast virtual space, making life easier and accessible for people around the world. As a child, I saw my mother work as a software engineer, which further motivated me to join the industry and contribute as diligently and gracefully as her.

🙋‍♀️ Gargi's Motivation

As an upcoming SWE intern at Microsoft IDC, I wish to learn skills that would make me industry-ready. As part of the curriculum at my college Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, I have worked on assignments, but I need to develop the confidence to work on real life projects that can go into production. There is a huge gap between college courses and the skills that I need to develop, which I am confident of bridging with the help of SheCodes courses and hands-on practical exposure. I absolutely love the curriculum of SheCodes Bootcamp workshop, and I would be grateful to learn from the mentors and step into the world of technology with confidence.

🤹‍♀️ Gargi's Hobbies

My university, Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, is nestled in the lap of Himalayas, and I enjoy going for treks, hiking and adventurous activities around my campus. I enjoy netflixing too. I am also a part of ACM-Women IIT Mandi Chapter, where I love to guide juniors and help them overcome the initial fear of programming.
