Genet's Story I was first introduced to coding through a summer outreach program my high school was doing at the time. The instructor wrote long lines of html code and asked us to copy it on the screen in front of us. It was very confusing and interesting at the same time. We run our code multiple times, finding multiple errors. The different results I got every time I changed the color or words, or even spacing and the immediate changes fascinated me. Even having no idea what I was doing, I was extremely excited to know what was next, how we can go further, what more can we do etc. Since then and until now, I am looking for a place to learn the basics where I can further grow my career.
I aspire to learn coding because I am a software engineering student at a government university here in Ethiopia. From early on, it had been obvious that I wouldn't get any Handson learning experiences from my formal education at the university. I want to become a skill-oriented expert at my craft and excel in my profession. The limited lab hours we get in class are nowhere near long enough to provide me with adequate experience. I am hoping sheCodes to be the right place to find what I am seeking.
I usually watch movies of different genres and read books over weekends and summer. I have always been a k-drama enthusiast. In the past, I used to have fun making games on scratch.
