Kirsten's Story I first became interested in coding when I realized how deeply technology influences our daily lives. From the apps we use to connect with friends to platforms that empower small businesses, coding is at the heart of it all. What fascinated me the most is how coding isn’t just about technology—it’s about problem-solving, creativity, and innovation. The moment that truly sparked my interest was watching a video about how coding can be self-taught and how many people have turned it into successful careers. It made me think, "If they can do it, so can I." I also love the idea of working in a field where you can continuously learn and evolve. Coding feels like the perfect fit for my curiosity and drive to make an impact.

🙋‍♀️ Kirsten's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code comes from my desire to change the trajectory of my life and uplift my family. Growing up in a township has shown me the challenges of limited opportunities, but it has also made me resourceful and determined. I see coding as a gateway to a better future—a skill that’s not only in demand but also has the power to transform lives. By learning to code, I can equip myself with the tools to solve problems creatively and build solutions that matter. I am inspired by the idea of creating something from nothing, whether it’s a website, an app, or a platform that makes life easier for others. Joining SheCodes would be a chance to learn from industry experts in a supportive environment that champions women in tech. This opportunity aligns perfectly with my vision of personal and professional growth.

🤹‍♀️ Kirsten's Hobbies

It motivates me to dream big and work hard toward my goals. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as they are my greatest support system. Whether it’s sharing meals, laughing together, or having deep conversations, they remind me why I’m working so hard to succeed.
