Lesedi's Story My interest in coding started back in high school, during my matric year. A friend of mine was selected to attend a coding bootcamp, and I didn’t know much about coding at the time. Curious, I researched it and discovered how fascinating it was. Since then, coding has always been a recurring interest of mine—something I’ve wanted to pursue. For a long time, I’ve told myself that I’m unable to do things that are deemed difficult, without even trying. But this year, I’m challenging that mindset. I want to prove to myself that I can tackle challenges, especially with something as exciting and impactful as coding.
My motivation for learning to code with SheCodes stems from a desire to challenge myself and pursue something I've always been interested in. In the past, I was often intimidated by the idea of coding, hearing how difficult it could be. However, this year, I decided to push past my fears and take on this challenge. SheCodes is a perfect fit for me because of its flexibility, allowing me to learn at my own pace. Ultimately, I'm excited to develop new skills that will open up more career opportunities for me.
I’ve always been an avid reader, and in my spare time, I spend a lot of time lost in books. I’ve also recently taken up crocheting, which has shown me that I enjoy activities that allow me to immerse myself in a world that’s different from my usual routine.
