Lidiya's Story My journey into coding began during my freshman year at university when I enrolled in a Python and C++ course. Initially, I was drawn to the subject out of curiosity, having always enjoyed problem-solving. As I delved into the coursework, I discovered the thrill of transforming abstract concepts into tangible solutions. When I successfully built my first program, I felt an exhilarating sense of accomplishment that ignited a passion for technology. Beyond the excitement of coding, I was inspired by the possibilities it presented. I envisioned how software could address real-world challenges, particularly in my home country of Ethiopia. This realization propelled me to explore web development, recognizing its potential to create impactful applications that improve access to education and healthcare for underserved communities. My fascination grew as I engaged with online coding communities, participating in discussions and projects that broadened my understanding. The more I learned, the stronger my drive became to harness my skills for positive change. Coding evolved into a pathway for me to contribute meaningfully to society and inspire others. It is this combination of passion and purpose that fuels my commitment to becoming a skilled software developer.
My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes stems from a desire to harness technology as a tool for positive change. I enjoy painting and exploring my creativity, often finding inspiration in nature and science fiction. I also love reading books that expand my horizons and participating in coding challenges. Spending quality time with friends and family brings me joy and helps recharge my spirit for new adventures.
