Mandisa's Story I became interested in coding in my final year of university, when I had to work on a project about 4IR. This project, brought to my attention, the concept of coding and how it is the driving force behind the modern world and the new technology. I then realized the importance of knowing how to code and how the skill can be beneficial to me as an employee and as an individual living in the modern world.
I am motivated to study coding because the modern world is heavily impacted by technology, as it has made life easier and has increased efficiency in many various ways. Technology has helped us as a race, to transcend beyond what we thought was once impossible. All new technologies have been made possible, through coding. I would like to be part of a movement, that continues to push beyond the limitations. Being a woman, from a developing country in one of the most impoverished continents in the world, I would like to be a part of a foundation such as SheCodes which aims to redress the imbalances in the world of work in technology and also seek to uplift those who are marginalized, to become a part of a progressive society. I believe in the SheCodes mission, and would be elated like to be a part of this amazing foundation.
I enjoy content creation across platforms such as Tiktok and Pinterest particularly on makeup artistry and lifestyle content. I also enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, watching documentaries and travelling and exploring different cities and towns as they serve as inspiration in my daily life. I also enjoy learning new languages, as this keeps my brain sharp and makes my life easier as a person a traveler and content creator.
