Mariana's Story When I was a child, I had access to my family computer (it had a white CRT monitor, a mouse with a ball inside of it... Sounds a bit alien right now, I know) and I just loved online gaming, from Neopets to Runescape and creating some questionable artwork on Paint, accessing the computer was my favorite thing to do... Until I discovered Geocities. That's when I started clicking on "inspect element" and trying to understand what would change if I try to maybe change the ammount of pixels on a certain component. Long story short, I got obsessed with creating stylized websites, but Geocities not long after simply closed their websites and it left a 16 years old devastated.
My dream, ever since I was 14 years old, was learning how to build beautiful websites. I was part of the 2000's niche brazilian obsession with creating Geocities websites and trying to style them as much as possible with that gorgeous 00's aesthetic, from personalized cursors to colorful scrollbars. Being chosen as one of the candidates for SheCodes means that not only I will get help to achieve that dream, I will develop my career as a front-end engineer, improving my coding skills and being able to share my knowledge with the voluntary projects I'm involved.
I absolutely love watching horror movies, reading books (fictional and non-fictional!) and drawing. I have a huge passion for tattooing and that's what I'm currently learning besides coding. I also love learning new languages (including the programming ones!)!
