Mariia's Story I learned coding (C# and Delphi) in the university. It was interesting but I didn't think that I will do it as a job. But when I started working in the game development company I understood that coding is not magic, but logic. And I can create these seeming magic on my own. This was a great shift in my consciousness.

🙋‍♀️ Mariia's Motivation

My interest to IT grows over years since I've worked in the game development, VR/AR, and other IT companies as a content writer. I also learned Python but some personal issues didn't let me become Python developer back then. Still I have the desire to become a developer, especially in current situation when my actual occupation in Ukraine is undergoing significant changes.

🤹‍♀️ Mariia's Hobbies

I am fond of reading and have my small blog about books. I also sing, write poems and create music with my husband. I used to travel a lot, but now just explore the neighborhood and dream of some exotic vacation when the war is over.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
