Maryam's Story I first became interested in coding when I realized how much technology shapes the world around us. While I don’t have a background in coding yet, I’ve always been fascinated by how a few lines of code can create tools, apps, and systems that solve real-world problems. This curiosity grew stronger as I started working on a project to develop an early detection device for breast cancer. I saw that coding wasn’t just a technical skill—it was a way to bring ideas to life and make them accessible to people in need. For me, coding feels like learning a superpower. It’s the ability to transform imagination into something tangible. I’m drawn to it because I want to build things that matter—whether it’s improving healthcare, making education more accessible, or tackling challenges I haven’t even thought of yet. Starting with SheCodes feels like the perfect way to take this first step and turn my curiosity into capability.

🙋‍♀️ Maryam's Motivation

I’ve always seen coding as the key to unlocking the potential of ideas, and I want to learn how to turn my ideas into reality. As someone developing a breast cancer early detection device, I’ve realized that coding isn’t just about writing lines of code—it’s about creating solutions that can save lives. I want to learn how to design intelligent systems, analyze data effectively, and build technology that makes healthcare more accessible, especially for those who need it most. What excites me about SheCodes is the opportunity to learn coding in a way that’s practical and empowering. I don’t want to just follow instructions; I want to understand how to solve problems creatively and independently. For me, coding isn’t just a skill—it’s a tool for change. I’m ready to dive into this program and finally give my ideas the structure and functionality they need to make a difference.

🤹‍♀️ Maryam's Hobbies

For me, hobbies are about finding joy in both creativity and curiosity. Writing is one of my favorite pastimes—it’s where I can turn thoughts into stories, whether I’m crafting a romantic comedy novel set in high school or working on a psychology book for teens. It’s my way of exploring emotions, relationships, and the human experience in a way that feels both meaningful and fun. When I’m not writing, I enjoy diving into research projects, like the one I’m developing for breast cancer early detection. While it might sound more serious than a hobby, I genuinely love brainstorming ideas and exploring ways to make an impact—it’s exciting to see how science and creativity can come together. I also love spending time with friends and family, sharing moments that make me laugh or inspire new ideas. Whether it’s discussing a random scientific concept or watching a feel-good movie, I find joy in the little things that connect us.
