Mercy's Story My interest in coding began in 2022 during my matric year, though I didn't fully understand what it was at the time. I was fascinated by programming languages like Java, which I had heard about on social media. I even attempted to learn it, but with no guidance, I struggled to make progress. It wasn’t until I enrolled in ICT that I truly grasped the power of coding and the remarkable things that can be built with it. Since then, I’ve been hooked and eager to expand my knowledge, build impactful projects, and grow within the tech space.
As a second-year ICT student, I have recognized gaps in my coding skills that hinder my ability to fully explore my potential in tech. Joining SheCodes is not just an opportunity to learn but a crucial step in gaining hands-on experience and acquiring the right skills to kick-start my tech career. I believe I have the potential to find innovative solutions to tech challenges, but my lack of technical expertise is a disadvantage. Being part of SheCodes will provide me with the structured learning, mentorship, and practical experience needed to turn my potential into real-world problem-solving skills.
My hobbies revolve around what some might call being a 'bookworm' because I love reading and exploring life from different perspectives. When I’m not immersed in a book, I spend my weekends playing tennis, which is my absolute favorite thing to do in the world
