Oksana's Story I am interested in coding because the ability to write a simple program or code is gradually becoming a basic skill. Programming and computational thinking expand opportunities for professional growth. The ability to read and understand computer code is becoming more in demand and development in this area is very valuable to me.

🙋‍♀️ Oksana's Motivation

In this difficult time, I would like to try to develop in a new direction for myself and, to help my country and my family, it seems to me that I have qualities that will be useful for development in this area of employment, and in the future I would like to show that if I are persistent in achieve your goal everything will work out. Studying in the field of programming would give me a great impetus to development, but unfortunately I don’t have the opportunity to pay now and I would be very grateful if you give me this chance.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
