Simran's Story My interest in coding began in the 6th grade when my tutor introduced me to a programming language called Turtle. It was an exciting experience to see a virtual turtle on the screen following the commands that I wrote. This initial exposure to programming sparked my curiosity about computers and coding. As I continued to learn, I delved into QBasic, where I developed programs. I enjoyed the process of building algorithms and seeing them come to life through programming. Later on, I expanded my programming knowledge by learning Java. In class 10th, I had the opportunity to work on a mini project using Java. The project aimed to suggest places to visit based on allocated budget using simple looping and conditional statements, but the feeling of building something useful and making it work was immensely satisfying. I am deeply grateful to my tutor for introducing me to coding. His guidance and support played a crucial role in nurturing my passion for programming. Overall, my journey in coding began with the enchantment of Turtle and evolved into a deep passion for programming, driven by the desire to create, solve problems, and build useful applications.
I have several strong motivations for wanting to learn to code with SheCodes. First of all, it's a rare chance for me to meet outstanding people and learn from their many perspectives. One of the key factors that attracted me to SheCodes is their emphasis on hands-on learning experiences. By engaging in hands-on projects and assignments, I will be able to build a strong foundation in coding and enhance my employability in the field. Furthermore, a supportive network of like-minded individuals will be instrumental in navigating the challenges that lie ahead. I am driven to learn coding because I want to contribute to my family's financial well-being. Witnessing my father, at his advanced age, utilizing his savings to support our family has inspired me to seek financial stability and independence. I firmly believe establishing a successful career in this field will enable me to provide financial support to my family and make them proud. Lastly, being part of the SheCodes community will serve as a source of inspiration. I aspire to empower and encourage women in technology globally. Joining this community will allow me to learn from inspiring mentors, enhance my skills, and ultimately achieve my goal.
I enjoy socializing with new people. Exploring different perspectives and expanding my horizons through these interactions is something I thoroughly enjoy. Additionally, I have a passion for dancing. I may not possess exceptional dance skills but it allows me to let loose myself, and enjoy the rhythm.
