Soz's Story I first became interested in coding during my studies in computer science and IT at Salahaddin University. After graduating, I started looking for job opportunities, but found that there were few companies offering coding careers in Iraq, especially for women. This motivated me to enhance my skills and become a professional coder. I decided to pursue remote work, allowing me to build a fulfilling career and connect with opportunities beyond local limitations.
I want to start a nonprofit organization for coding and programming in KRI in Iraq as I began web development and took the Harvard CS50 Web course. It was a challenging journey struggling with Git and GitHub tools, learning Python, Django, and more. I worked through each project researching and problem-solving on my own. While Athena, an AI coding assistant, was a good help in debugging and supporting my code, now I'm working on my final project. I know the importance of community support There was no one to help me so now I want to create a space and supportive community where Iraqi girls can find mentorship, guidance, and inspiration that empowers them in their coding pursuits. In my free time, I enjoy reading and hiking. Both provide an escape into new worlds and a chance to connect with nature while staying active.
