Tebogo Mabontle's Story I first became interested in coding when I noticed the alarming rise in violence against women and children in South Africa. It made me realize the urgent need for innovative solutions to improve safety and security. I felt a strong desire to contribute to creating something that could increase the chances of women and children being safe, even if it improved their safety by just 1%. Learning to code became my way of taking action and using technology to make a meaningful difference.
My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes is to empower myself and others. I want to break down the stereotypes that tech is a male-dominated field and inspire younger women to see themselves as capable and confident in the world of technology. I believe that by learning to code, I can not only advance my own career but also serve as a role model and advocate for more diversity in tech.
I love engaging in activities that challenge my mind, like playing Scrabble, Sudoku, and 30 Seconds. I also enjoy staying active with hobbies like bowling and hiking. Listening to music is a great way for me to relax, and I'm always eager to learn new things, whether it's through reading or exploring new skills.
