Teboho's Story I have always been fascinated by technology, even though I grew up in a small village in Lesotho with my grandmother, where exposure to it was limited. My curiosity deepened when my sister brought her laptop home from university and introduced me to movies. One of those movies, The Internship, introduced me to the idea of software engineering through the inspiring story of two inexperienced individuals working with a brilliant team at Google. Although I didn’t fully understand the profession at the time, I was captivated by the problem-solving and creativity involved in the work. Since then, I’ve dreamed of pursuing software engineering but lacked the resources and exposure to explore it further until now. I first became interested in coding during an Information Systems course I took at university. It was my initial exposure to coding, and I found it both fascinating and exciting. I was proud to achieve an A+ in one of the courses, which reinforced my passion for the subject. Although I didn’t complete the program due to financial struggles, that experience sparked my interest in technology and left me eager to learn more.

🙋‍♀️ Teboho's Motivation

I am interested in She Code because it offers me an opportunity to break into the technology field as a young Black woman. I've always been fascinated by software, but I was rarely exposed to it growing up. She Code motivates me because it provides the tools, mentorship, and supportive community I need to gain hands-on experience and build a solid foundation in coding. I am unemployed and deeply motivated to provide for myself and my family, with the hope of being the first in my family to provide consistent food and stability. The program’s emphasis on empowering women and creating career opportunities inspires me to develop the skills needed to contribute to the tech industry. I am eager to join this network of driven individuals, gain practical knowledge, and work toward making a meaningful impact through technology.

🤹‍♀️ Teboho's Hobbies

My hobbies include going to the gym, spending time with friends, reading books, and exploring new interests like learning coding and artificial intelligence online. I enjoy activities that challenge me mentally and physically, as well as those that allow me to connect with others. I also have a Youtube and TikTok channel inspire young people like myself to inspire them and follow their dreams.
