Thakanyane's Story I first became interested in coding because of my uncle, who's a software engineer. He’s always been someone I look up to from a young age, and whenever he visits, he makes sure to show me what he’s working on. Also, taking into account the 4th industrial revolution and how everything is tech centered, I can't help but want to take part in something that has enabled the development of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, reshaped how we work, communicate, and interact with the world around us.
Growing up in an underprivileged background has taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. I've always been fascinated by technology and so coding, to me, represents a gateway to a better future—not just for myself, but for my entire family. Learning to code with SheCodes is an opportunity to gain skills that can open doors to careers in the tech, an industry I am heavily passionate about . I am deeply interested in coding because it's a powerful tool that allows me to create, innovate, and solve problems. I want to build applications and websites that can help people in underdeveloped communities like mine. I believe technology should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Furthermore, I am motivated by the desire to prove that no matter where you come from, with the right skills and determination, you can achieve anything. I am ready to work hard, learn, and grow with SheCodes to build a brighter future.
I am an avid reader, at any given moment of reprieve I immerse myself in books; mainly fiction and African literature. Apart from that I like outdoor activities, anything that spikes my adrenaline rush such as bungee jumping
