Tiisetso's Story My interest in coding began when I realized how much technology influences our daily lives, from the apps we use to the websites we visit. While working on projects during my Public Relations and Integrated Communication studies, I often found myself curious about the digital tools and platforms we used to engage audiences. This curiosity grew as I started exploring how these tools are built and function behind the scenes. The turning point came when I tried to customize a simple website for a project. I was fascinated by how a few lines of code could change the entire look and feel of a page. That small experience ignited a spark in me—I realized that coding wasn’t just about computers and algorithms; it was a way to create, communicate, and solve problems. Since then, I’ve been eager to dive deeper into coding, but I wasn’t sure where to start. That’s why I’m so excited about the opportunity with She Codes—it feels like the right place to turn this growing interest into real skills and a meaningful career.
I hold a diploma in Public Relations and an advanced diploma in Integrated Communication. Despite my qualifications, I’ve faced challenges in securing a job, which has led me to explore new opportunities. I’ve always been interested in the tech space, but I wasn’t sure where to start. I believe that She Codes would be the perfect place for me to begin this journey. I believe Shecodes will help me develop the skills needed to enter the tech industry and open new career paths.
In my free time, I really enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes. I’m also passionate about beauty and makeup, which has led me to become quite resourceful. Due to my financial situation, I’ve embraced the DIY approach, learning to do many things myself rather than paying for them. This has not only saved me money but also given me a sense of independence and creativity. Additionally, I often spend time researching various ways to empower myself as a young woman. Whether it’s learning new skills or exploring opportunities in tech, I’m always looking for ways to grow and improve.
