Tshegofatso's Story I first became interested in coding when I realized how much technology shapes our everyday lives. It started with curiosity about how websites and apps work behind the scenes. The idea that a few lines of code can create something functional and impactful really fascinated me. As I explored further, I was drawn to the creativity and problem-solving involved in coding. Whether it’s designing a user-friendly interface or debugging a tricky issue, there’s something deeply rewarding about building solutions that others can use and enjoy. That’s when I knew I wanted to dive deeper and learn to code myself.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes would be the opportunity to gain skills that open doors to new career possibilities, particularly in the tech industry. I’m inspired by SheCodes’ mission to empower women and bridge the gender gap in technology. This aligns with my desire to make meaningful contributions in a field that drives innovation and change. Additionally, coding offers a chance to improve my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are valuable in any profession. Learning in a supportive environment focused on women’s education makes SheCodes an ideal personal and professional growth platform. Financial Independence is vital for women especially those coming from South Africa.

I enjoy a mix of creative and relaxing hobbies. Reading is one of my favourite ways to unwind and explore new ideas, whether it’s fiction, personal development, or anything that sparks my curiosity. I also love spending time outdoors, whether it’s going for a walk, hiking, or just enjoying nature. When I’m feeling creative, I enjoy cooking or baking and experimenting with new recipes—it’s a fun and delicious way to de-stress. Lastly, I enjoy connecting with people, whether through conversations, outdoor activities, or activities that bring laughter and joy. It’s all about finding balance and keeping life interesting!

Tshegofatso's coding training

Tshegofatso has gained access to SheCodes Plus for at no cost. It’s a 4 month coding training that’ll take her from a beginner to a professional.

She'll learn popular technologies, from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 SheCodes Plus includes all of our workshops:
1. Basics Coding Workshop (3 weeks)
2. Basics Add-on (1 week)
3. Plus Coding Workshop (8 weeks)
4. Plus Add-on (2 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
