Tshireletso Keith's Story After I came across the tik tok video of SheCodes foundation I did a bit of research on coding. I realized I have an interest in coding as it can provide an insight of programming. I will also acquire the skills, knowledge and practical experience that I need for professional prospects, and I want to give coding a try and see where it will lead me. I believe I will acquire a lot of skills and abilities that will enable me to even change other industry works to advance technologically.

🙋‍♀️ Tshireletso Keith's Motivation

During the unimpressive challenging times of lockdown, when Covid 19 was on the rise, I was with my partner. By then he was a student pursuing his Honors in Industrial design. As he was always giving much attention to his design projects I got curious to the extent of being eager to see and learn. I became interested in what he was doing as it was innovative, as some of those works included mobile application design and website designs. He did an introduction of how the design software he used works, even though to me they were complicated, I played a huge part in sharing ideas of what application we could create. One day as I was browsing on tik tok I saw a video about an opportunity offered by SheCodes foundation to study coding for Free. Because of my interest in innovation and programming I realized Coding will be a good start.

🤹‍♀️ Tshireletso Keith's Hobbies

My hobbies are playing games like Sudoku and puzzles as they boost my mood and allow me to be a creative and fast thinker. I also spend most of my Sundays with family on road trips and some weekends are dedicated to my partner as we usually get to socialize watching soccer. I also spend quality time cooking, trying on different recipes as it helps me to be creative and innovative.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
