Yu's Story One of my university seniors introduced me to coding. And I admire Margaret Hamilton so much. She is a lead software engineer for the Apollo project, which took humans to the moon. So I first became interested in coding when I realized most coders are helping people. Through their codes they can create something that makes more convenient for people's lives.

🙋‍♀️ Yu's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code is to improve my career when I stuck at home. I believe coding is the only way to bring my ideas to my life. Since I've enjoyed mathematics, physics problems and I think programming is very similar. Thus I choose to learn programming to be happy at work and to provide a better life for my family at the same time.

🤹‍♀️ Yu's Hobbies

My hobbies are reading Buddhist books and meditation. My another hobby is to volunteer in teaching for the children who are suspended with their basic education because of the current situation in Myanmar. I have fun while learning the Paticcasamuppada or the Cycle of Origination. I have a lot fun when I summarize with the Buddha's teaching on the conditionality of our human physical and mental occurrences.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
