Zinhle's Story I fellowshipped at a church with a lot of people in tech. They would speak about coding and that is how I became interested in coding. I became more interested because I want to change careers and pursue a career in tech. I would see people on social media talking about it and became more and more interested.

Learning coding can be beneficial for several reasons. It enhances problem-solving skills, boosts creativity, and opens up opportunities in various industries. Plus, in our tech-driven world, coding is becoming an increasingly valuable skill. Learning to code will also allow me to build projects and bring ideas to life. Whether it's creating a website, developing a mobile app, or automating tasks, coding empowers you to turn your imagination into reality. Plus, it's a skill that is in high demand and can lead to lucrative career opportunities. SheCodes also empowers women to be in tech. and I love being a part of an organisation that empowers women.

I love being creative, I highly enjoy painting and putting together puzzle pieces. I also like baking for my family. When I was unemployed my creativity earned me a living because I worked as a hairstylist.

Zinhle's coding training

Zinhle has gained access to SheCodes Plus for at no cost. It’s a 4 month coding training that’ll take her from a beginner to a professional.

She'll learn popular technologies, from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
